About
Emily Duevel
Head Instructor/Trainer
I have worked with riders and horses in multiple disciplines providing training by elevating the connection between horse and rider through positive reinforcement, consistency, and a safe and encouraging environment. My focus is on teaching students to be well rounded, knowledgeable horsewomen & horsemen. I am a very technical rider and instructor, focusing on mastery of skills. I keep my program small as my focus is on quality of instruction and training elite riders.
The foundation of the art of riding comes from an understanding of the anatomy, physiology, and psychology of both the horse and rider. My educational background is in psychology and equine science which lends itself well to my pursuit.
I offer riding lesson and training programs at Legacy Equestrian Center in Celina, Texas (easily accessed from the North Tollway or Hwy 380 to surrounding communities such as Aubrey, Celina, Prosper, McKinney, Little Elm, Plano, Frisco, Mellisa, and Allen).
I began riding at the age of two and have training in hunt seat, dressage, show jumping, western pleasure, saddle seat, and driving. I have ridden under the instruction of world class professionals such as Beck Holder, George Morris, Dick Wallen and Mona Bonham. I have been teaching and training horses in a variety of disciplines for more than 20 years and have competed at the regional and national levels in equitation (saddle seat, western, & hunt seat), jumpers, hunters, dressage, eventing, & western pleasure. I have also worked as a certified judge, judging at the local and state levels. I have worked extensively with a variety of breeds including: Warm Bloods, Thoroughbreds, Saddlebreds, Morgans, Arabians, Quarter Horses, & Paints.
